The Yoredale Natural History Society
The Society was founded in 1979, with the aim of 'promoting an interest in and an appreciation of natural history, with particular reference to Wensleydale'.
Yoredale is the old name for Wensleydale.
There is a programme of winter lectures in the Methodist Hall, Leyburn, usually on the last Friday of the month.
Members abilities range from beginner to full time working wildlife professional. Help and guidance is available for those wishing to learn more about most aspects of wildlife.
During the summer months there are about 15 field meetings to local nature "hotspots" and visits to nature reserves.
The Society publishes a Bulletin, each year, usually in February, to report on our activities in the previous year.
